You talked to me today.

Just a simple exchange of words,
"How many laps did you run?"
Asking that, you leaned in to read my worksheeet over my shoulder.

You were hot from running,
Warmth radiating from your skin.
I answered quietly,
"Six. How about you?"

And you gave me a long problem,
"Six, plus one, minus two, plus three..."

And you walked next to me,
To the door of the girl's locker room,
While I solved it.

Once I got the answer,
Seven,
You grinned and waved goodbye,
And I went inside.

Long after our conversation,
My legs were still weak.

You talked to me today.
