Shining near the Moon
Every pair of eyes stare at the girl
 who walks with heavy strides
down the street of the old town
 She's the epitome of beauty,
her grace and silken clothes are
but a mask for the pain in her heart

 Every night she'll stand outside
and stare up at the stars above
begging them to hear her plea
hoping one day one of the thousand pleas will be heard and granted
and maybe the fetters that bind her
to the cold world will be broken

If the stars could only come
and light the way to the moon
maybe she could shrug off the chains
that weighs her down each day
and she could sail to the moon
and glow as bright as any star

 Maybe, just maybe..

Tomorrow when the sun rises in the east
and the first faint rays brush the ground
she'll glide on down the street
 singing her own song
the melody matching her fluttering heart
the words a ray of light from the sun
 "free at last"
