It’s been raining ever since Saturday, that’s the day you left,
6pm on a stormy night, you truly tried your best to fight,
But then down you go with one hard blow.
It’s been raining since Saturday.

Sunday, disbelief as the clouds cover our heads.
Monday, shock and awe as the light rain falls.
Tuesday, it downpours tears and thunders sobs.
Wednesday, a silent misty fog
It’s been raining since Saturday.

Thursday, comes late afternoon and evening showers.
Friday Morning there are endless floods,
In the afternoon light inside showers with a chance of sobs
It’s been raining since Saturday.

Night falls, with clear skies and endless stars
Clones of you wander round
You, with the bird’s eye view,
See that? Hut, Throw, Touchdown!
It’s been raining since Saturday…
But everyday it rains a little less.

I wrote this poem after the death of a friend and it really helped me grieve. It is a way of verbalizing, the emotions and events in the week after his death.
