Tell me somethin' special
(here)
Set it on the street to sun
(but carry it in quick! before it runs!)
Fill it to the full with rain
(and load it with love, lipstick stains)
Smear it through like a painted cloud
(or hide it high above our frowns)
'Cause darling, darling
(dear oh dear)
Your words are ones not all can
(hear)

The author's comments:
I came up with the first line of this poem while running down the stairs. I guess inspiration comes in the strangest ways! With this poem, I hope that people will be encouraged to stop, and just listen to the things that matter. Just listen. Don't think.
