It was dark, I was cold
I was trying to be bold
To stand out, to stay strong
But it all felt so wrong
I was told to be quite, to shut up, to sit down
Was I the only voice not scared by the silence of the town?
But I would not give up, not surrender, never quit
I would keep fighting keep working until I stood triumphant
I will always have a voice, a soul and a heart
There is nothing anyone can do to tear me apart
I am the ocean, so vast and loud
By voice will be heard, and it will be heard out.
Even though it felt it still felt so wrong and not right
Even though I was the only one fighting, I was fighting everyone’s fight
So I would not give up, not surrender, never quit
I kept fighting, kept working, and now I am triumphant
