People are like stained-glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed
only if there is a light from within.

I want to be like Sylvia Plath
minus the suicide
minus the burden of the world on my shoulders
I want to be like Sylvia Plath
Great
A warrior with a pen
minus the emptiness that haunts me
that once haunted her
minus the misery and loneliness
I want to be like Sylvia Plath
But the words won’t flow
and the depression strives on
and the world begins to crumble around me
as the page remains open
Empty
Blank and without a hint of the greatness
of
Sylvia Plath

I fell in love with Sylvia Plath's writing when I read the Bell Jar.

Okay so I loved your poem, and being a fellow Plath fan I would love it if you contribute to this site, letterstoplath.wordpress.com/category/uncategorized/prose/. We can learn from each other, and know how other Plath fans view life!
