Look to the stars
See their excellent capacity for guidance

Look to the trees
watch as they spread your whispered wishes through their leaves on the wind

Look to your shadow
Discover your every side

Look to yourself
Before turning your gaze to any other

The author's comments:
A god never occurred to me. It was a presence that I never felt, never even thought about. My family prays every day. I always searched for something to think about, or wish upon, while they prayed, and it came to me in the form of a gust of wind that rustled the trees when I begged for anything other than silence.
