My Darkness
here i am again, standing alone
listening to the omnipresent drone
the chatter of high schoolers, waiting for cars
and alone stand i, waiting for the stars
waiting for the night time, the cover of darkness
where i can be fully myself, in solitary blindness
content, i sit, where i know no one can see
and the darkness is my only company
i like it that way, i have decided
for none can interrupt uninvited
the way midnight and I merge together
and our cores connect, disharmony never
but all good things must come to an end
and so the sunlight starts to unbend
and dashes my beautiful darkness away from me
another casualty of what shines so brightly
and i wait for the stars once more,
wait for my midnight to come
and carry me away
