The car rumbles on down the dusty winding road
Not a word is spoken
We come to a stoplight
There is absolute silence
Save the noisy car
They say silence speaks louder than words
And they’re right
Who am I to say they aren’t?
Because the silence speaks the truth
Speaks louder than our polite words to each other
Says the hidden meanings to our “Hi” and “Hello”
Our friendship, like this dusty winding road
Will eventually end or come to an intersection
And like the busy cars our friendship either ends
Or separate into different directions
The light flashes green.
