Just Maybe

Is this where we were meant to be?
I wonder if things will ever change
I ask myself this everyday
I wish things would never have changed
We were so happy and carefree
Never caring what people thought
I wish things could go back
Back to the beginning
Back to the first day we met
But things did change
Whether it was for better or worse
We won’t ever know
We avoid eye contact in the halls
We both act as if things never happened
But we can’t forget; can we?
Maybe there’s hope for a day
A day when we can go back
Just maybe
