My Plane MAG
Engine, check.
Goggles, check.
Destination, set.
I'm ready to go, ready to take off.
I grasp the wheel
And peer out the window at the runway.
The countdown begins,
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one …
Blast off!!
I'm off the ground
and into the sky.
It's a beautiful sunny day,
The sun blazes on my hot face
and slight breeze
blows in my face,
as I fly over the wonderful
Seneca Lake of New York State!
But in reality,
I'm rocking in my grandparents'
hammock,
There are no goggles
or at least none for flying,
just water goggles.
No wheel, just a stick that I found,
near the lake house,
no breeze in my face,
just my small handheld fan.
But what is real
is Seneca Lake and the treasures
it holds in its depths.
