Your eyes, always aglow
Your smile, handsome and gleaming
Your laugh, such a remarkable sound
Your voice, gentle and comforting
Your hands, big and strong

Somehow,
The shine in your eyes began to tarnish
That beautiful smile made itself scarce
Your wonderful laugh became dull and meaningless
Your voice became nothing more than a sound of hopelessness
Your hands became shaky and unsure

Suddenly,
Your eyes had closed
Your smile was nowhere to be found
Your laugh had disappeared
Your voice couldn't be heard
Your hands weren't there any longer

You were gone. Could it be true?

Now I'm here, curled up in your sweater
Missing your eyes
Picturing that smile
Longing to hear your laugh
Aching to hear the sound of your voice
Wishing for your loving hand to shield
mine once more
