Are you kidding yourself?
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know
We fool ourselves most days.
The past is never past,
Take it from me.

The ones who are unusual
Are bound for mass extinction.

We are witnessing something morbid about your
Lofty ambitions.
Our hearts were smashed and thrown.

We practiced intimacy
Unintended consequences, stolen moment.

Wrecking vengeance fell apart.
Dark secrets kissed a puckered mouth.
The climate betrayed him.

The afterlife could be carved out
Above dust-colored skies.

Remember,
Sharing is overrated.
So, eat your heart out.

One more thing,
I could use a latte.
