Angel
Into my life came a sudden rain,
Though no water fell from the heavens
This was a rain of lasting pain.
At first she was beautiful
Her essence as sweet as a rose,
Until i got pricked by her thorns,
But the thorns were no fault of her own
For the pain of the past haunts her.
Safe now,
Yet memories fester in the mind,
Physically and mentally
Her scars bare proof of what was.
An empty mother and her groom
Showed no love for my Angel
Only abuse, and worse.
Safe now,
But pain always lingers.
What hurts me the most?
I'm merely a pawn,
No matter how hard I try
I am powerless when she cries.
Its strange looking into my Angels eyes
They'll show love one second
Or emptiness the next,
These eyes have blinded me willingly.
And fate would have it
The more fire and brimstone we go through
The closer we become.
Those are the terms, of our personal hell.
Our fate says this rain will never stop.
As I hold my Angel, happily
I blindly think to myself,
Let the rain come.
