Checkmate
Why do you always look with eyes ablaze
painting the world as your greedy chess game
throwing a blanket of such musky haze
ore the weak; not strong enough to take blame.
Those in your path bear only hollow eyes
as you've triumphed against their kings and queens
you bear a crown that you have reached from lies
stealing all sun that has ever been seen.
But your hand is clasped by a halting length
your cruelty reaches not past your own grounds
you seem powerful but have no real strength
you can’t melt me I am not to be found.
If you find a heart it will be too late
I bear the crown now and I say check mate.
