The flightless dove

When lovers love,
And writers write,
They are like a dove,
In mid-flight,
Free to do whatever they desire,
Ever climbing higher and higher,

That is how I wish to be,
Deep within my heart,
But you see,
I fear to start,
For then I face,
The risk the risk of falling from grace.

The author's comments:
I have shown this to only a couple people and they were surprised that I could write like this because I often hide how I feel.
