Keep Me Safe
The sky doesn’t compare
And green explodes over trees
Branches that keep you warm
Even with wind that will freeze
He is still a sprout yet
Hovers over flowers
As eyes watch him
Sway in the wind
For it is a swallow
With a scared wing and
Wants to stay out of the cold
But won’t stay long
For when she gets scared
She flies
But this tree is built to protect her from harm
Even a hawk will fly away
Leaving the tree to keep
The swallow from the cold
