Losing love.

Years have gone by and my feelings are still the same
Black fills my heart and I am to blame
The pain I feel I lock up inside
I’ve tried to run from it, I’ve tried to hide
It locked me up and threw away the key
Loving and losing is never easy
I love again but it’s not the same
Black fills my heart and I am to blame
Why do we take things for granted and later regret
Why can’t you being something I can just forget
If only I could have made you stay
I wouldn’t have to write this poem today
