I Am A Puppet
String cords
connected to me
hang from the sky.
They hold me up,
and drop me down.
They make me laugh or cry.
Pain floods to my mind
to think of this fact.
When it pulls me
in a forbidden direction,
I don’t know how to react.
In my mind,
I live my own life.
But in reality,
it’s untrue.
Soon, I know and realize,
my whole life will turn
from light to dark blue.
The heart is complicated.
The mind does not agree.
But I must find a balance
and listen to both equally.
It’s a difficult realization
that there’s still so much time
until I can break free
and live my own life one day,
with everything I do
being a choice of mine.
