Today is not a day to laugh, it is a day to cry.
Today is a not a day to mock, it is a day to unite
Today I will remember, along with thousands of others
I will remember for those who won't
I will remember for those who can't, and those lost

I will hold the hope for a brighter future
I will never forget, I will always salute those who died
For those searching for their brothers, and friends,
Knowing they weren't here anymore, but determined
Determined to bring them home once more

I might not have been there physically
But the sorrow from that day burns deep in my heart
The damage inflicted shines through
The anger of why burns in my head
The dust of age has not covered the scars from watching the towers fall

America, do not lose hope
We must always remember why we fight
For all those lost in 9/11
For all those killed in war
Never forget today, never forget those lost
We must win this attack against terrorism

Remember 9/11
Always in our heart.

The author's comments:
I was only a small child when thee towers fell, but I remember a sense of loss. On the anniversary of this tragic, terroristic attack, I found myself drawn by to the TV watching all thee media playback through the eyes of a 15 year old. I have a new understanding of the loss. "No Dust of Age" was inspired by my viewing of the 911 tragedy...through my eyes as a teenager, not a toddler.
