It was the eleventh day in the month of September
It was a tragic day that’s easy to remember
Osama bin Laden took charge on an attack
Mothers and fathers never came back

The first tower fell at about 9:05
People were running for their lives
The second tower fell about an hour or so later
The evidence was there in the gigantic craters

Some 500 miles away
Passengers took over a plane
They knocked out the terrorists but sadly enough
Steering the plane was way too tough
It was only a matter of time before Death captured their souls and hope
The plane crashed down in Pennsylvania, many are still trying to cope

There was sorrow and grief on that eleventh day in September
It was a tragic day that’s easy to remember
Now eleven years later, it’s still hard to believe
That bin Laden has been caught, shot, and buried at sea

We remember the lives lost and first responders at Ground Zero
Never forget the courage and strength of the hero
Many were lost in grief and sorrow that day
But there was a big difference that was made
9/11 made USA stronger; and more united we came
