Favorite Quote:
"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."
— Marilyn Monroe

It’s the first day of school,
and I see all of the children
that are entering kindergarten this year.
They don’t know. They don’t understand.
Soon though, too soon,
they will discover all
of the cruelties in this world.
They will learn. They will be corrupted.
Society will break into them,
into their little, growing minds
that will accept anything as normal
until they realize that judging is the norm.
When their beautiful faces that
were once so innocent become
corrupted with the ignorance of the world
we will know that they learned and
we will know that they uncovered the truth.

When my nine year old brother first started school, I remember him coming home and asking about sex on the first day. It was just something he heard on the school bus. Now when my four year old brother is going off to school, I hoped that it wouldn't be the same.
