I Won't Apologize
I won’t apologize for being me
For loving my cat as if he is my son
For loving my friends as much as my family.
I won’t apologize for my hazel eyes
For my blonde hair with brown highlights
For being short yet reaching high for my dreams.
I won’t apologize for trusting others more than they actually deserve
For smiling and laughing while dying inside
For stepping back and watching the world through another’s eyes.
I won’t apologize for loving to read rather than talk with “friends”
For working hard to prove myself through thick and thin
For taking leadership when others would not.
I won’t apologize for laughing at everything
For walking away when I was done
For not looking back, but my heart was still caring.
I won’t apologize for wearing makeup to hide from my inner self
For acting like everyone else to fit
For making bad decisions yet learning from them.
I won’t apologize for getting good grades through hard work even if it wasn’t the “cool” thing.
For dancing my way through life
For being a lone “Shadow” wolf in the night.
I won’t apologize for being me.
