If a man never had to work
If a man never had to work
 If he never became wise
Would he sit down on the ground and laze away his days
 If he could have everything
 Would he have nothing
Would time eat away his years as he never grew to become anything

Unlike the man who was forced to work
 To have a happy life
 Would he be clever
 Would he be wise
 If every day he awoke
 And to his surprise
 Would every day be different
 As time clicked by
 Would he have grown
 Will he be smart
Could he have wished upon a wishing star
