I am from playing with barbies, taking them with me everywhere I went
From playing dress-up and thinking I was a supermodel
Glittery art projects, and going to sleep with my mother tucking me in, a kiss on the cheek
From those days which made me a creative spirit today

I am from dancing in front of the mirror in my pajamas, I’m on top of the world
From staying up as late as I can, and sleeping in as much as I want
Watching water droplets race across my window as it’s raining
From walking into puddles with my rain-boots, splash!

I am from snuggling on the couch with a book in my hand,
From hot chocolate with marshmallows beside me as I read
Relaxing days are cherished within me
From watching old cartoons afterwards

I am from traveling all over the world, enjoying the outside of home
From glorious little strolls in Italy,
Or admiring the Eiffel Tower in Paris,
And watching the sunset in Aruba
From being exposed to more knowledge of the world, cracking out of the sheltered community

I am from my heritage that is an important aspect in my life
From Russian parents, the inspiration I am given to have the feeling of being proud of my culture
Family over anything is my motto
From the Matroshka dolls to the blintzes for breakfast, customs I will treasure for a lifetime

I am from making strong friendships, the people who will continue to give me memories of joy
From the people who make me laugh so hard, my stomach hurts
The bond we share is long lasting
From those who help me get through pressuring times

I am from loving the simple and beautiful things in life
From knowing that even the experience of trying to accomplish something before the microwave beeps, is just as meaningful
Because tiny things are just as big, we must realize
I am from living for the present with no regrets, ready to take on the challenges that come soon ahead for the future

I felt like it was time to uncover who I was as a person and what made my personality and quirks be what they are today.
