How She Grew Up
She grew up in a family, just like you,
but only it was different, if you knew.
All of her people cared about gender,
if you knew them, they weren’t tender.
They cared for everyone’s religious rights,
and everyone had to put up with their fights.

They thought reproductive rights was alright for all,
and just to think, what if they wanted to avoid child hunger?
Sexism and racism, they all fought against that,
Maybe there was child labor, that was just that.
There was bullying and abuse, maybe even starvation,
you will never know about that conversation.

They hated tolerance and loved acceptance,
if only we all just had one big chance.
She grew up in a family, just like you,
