To You Mommy and Daddy
I know we haven’t spoken in a while
Got different emotions all in one pile
I’m kind of glad that we have grown apart
‘Cause now that you are gone, my life can start
See you always kept me right by your side
If someone told you that was good, they lied
I know you only tried to do your best
But now instead of east, I’m headin’ west
You kept me from parties and all those boys
Even when I was young I had no toys
But now let’s fast forward a couple years
Remember how I left? There were no tears
I didn’t cry because I wanted this
I didn’t hug you or blow you a kiss
I strutted out that door...didn’t look back
I’m surprised my face did not get smacked
I regret leaving you the way I did
But I was no longer a little kid
Now I’m sitting here thinking of you
I hope that you realize I love you too
