And so the lion fell in love with the lamb <3

Kahlil Gibran once said,
The deeper that sorrow carves into us, the more joy we can contain
But still,
I walk through school today,
Praying
I won’t be teased today
I walk through town
Praying
The others won’t stare at me
I walk through parks
Praying
I won’t get laughed at
I walk through my thoughts
Wondering
Why don’t I fit in?
My hair-isn’t like theirs
My music-isn’t the same
My heart-still aches
I walk through life
Dreaming
Somewhere, the world will take me,
For me.

This poem was written for a literacy project. I tried to see through the eyes of a girl who is going through the battle of stereotyping.
