I see you
watching me,
That look in your eye,
that tiny smirk
you wear so well,
Don't think
that I don't hear
the things you say,
If not from you
then from the voices
of those who did,
I know that in your mind
I am nothing,
Nothing compared to you,
But you are wrong,
for I am more
than just the cover of a book,
More than my first impression
ever could have said,
I am a writer,
an artist,
a PERSON,
So why,
why,
WHY
do you look down on me?
I don't look up at you.
