Dreaded Words
The first drop rushes down my face and my body is shaken awake. Silent sobs are only allowed when your business stays yours. The words I've been dreading have finally been spoken directly to my ear. 'Never' he says. His soft, velvet voice, so masculine and powerful replays in my head. 'Never...never...never'. This is enough to make me scream, it is enough to destroy every living dream. What I've been waiting for, hoping for, living for... Will never happen. I do not feel mad, nor sad. I do not feel regret, nor sorrow. I am like an empty pit. Bottomless and silent, with a few drops of water left to fall.
