New Beginnings

The start of a new beginning welcomes me closer
Shedding light on the past that I so willingly walked away from
Like water it cleanses me as it washes away the old and welcomes the new
The calm before the storm over as a torrent of emotions take control
Tears warm and wet remember the hurt and sorrow leaving salty streaks of memories in the deep of the heart
Forming a bond over the things I’ve lost
Each one connected with gentle tears so pure they leave everyone breathless
Like a white rose only able to live with the gift of water
A new beginning a waits as I let the spurts of clarity wash over me
And I step into a new life
