Favorite Quote:
We are the music-makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams.
World-losers and world-forsakers,
Upon whom the pale moon gleams;
Yet we are the movers and shakers,

I sewed my love into a blanket
Put smiles and tears in every stitch
With awkward hands I held a needle
Hoping these frail fingers could create magic

Sometimes I put it aside
When it didn't look quite like my dreams
But then I'd pick it back up again
And stitch more at the seams

But still the blanket became ratty
The cloth grew full of holes
And the fabric wore thin
Where I refused to let it go

What began so full of promise
Like a diamond from a coal
Was leading me nowhere
down a dark cold lonely road

So now I'll rip out all the stitches
In the cloth and in my heart
Unravel what I have knitted
To get back to the start

No use in reusing
what has been already worn
I'll throw the remnants to the fire
And throw the ashes to the storm

And when the sun comes out
I'll be a woman and not a girl
I'll sew my love into a blanket
But this time
I'll give it to the world

I liked a guy on and off for 5 years, but he never liked me back. I just recently realized that I have to accept reality, and this poem is a manifestation of that.
