Just A Moment

A recent friend said to me
She thinks her life is worthless.
I only met her for a moment
But she means more to me than she'll ever know.
She deals with things I'll never have to deal with.
She hears things I'll never hear.
But I care
If only for a moment I met her
If she dies
I'll cry
If only for a moment I saw her soul
If she leaves
I'll cry
I tell her there's a reason
There's always an uphill
After the valley
She's in such a deep valley
She doesn't know if she can get out.
If only for a moment...
I hope there's an uphill for her.
