Excuses

It’s unexplainable,
How worthless I feel.
Claiming the effort is good enough for me, and others.
Excuses shading the unwanted truth that really is.
Is this who I want to be?
Just another person who wasn’t good enough,
Letting excuses shape me.
At some point I need to take a stand, against myself.
Be honest to the death.
I’m not good enough,
With a life of excuses, I never will be.
But when the going gets tough, the tough don’t make excuses.
They go and they go and they go and they go.
It’s about time I do the same.
