The Other End of a String
The red thread of fate
supposedly ties together two destined people.
But my love, so impure
dirtied the red thread of fate
In spiteful revenge,
the red thread pushed into my skin
Slowly chafing welts upon my body
the marks of indecency.
It knotted into my hair
where it aligned along the gaps of my skull
and rubbed feverishly against the dull edges of conscious
to sever and untwine itself
from the dented soul.
