Power.
The rich scrabble for it,
The lowly dream of it,
The humble surrender it.
Power.
It corrupts,
It gives confidence,
It un-stabilizes,
Power.
Using it wisely, it is amazing.
Using it poorly, it is greedy.
We grow up wishing it,
We grow old denying it,
It is strengthening but weakening.
Power.
It kills, it deprives,
It swarms, it thrives.
Having it around,
Is a constant danger,
Yet a constant relief.
There are struggles for it,
And struggles against it,
Power.
