A wet floor: you slip and fall hard,
surprised on the way down.
Firecracker thrown, the fuse shorter than you think:
Boom, startled, and your ears ring.
Unbeknownst to you, a storm encroaches:
You jump as thunder cracks and lightning strikes.
After sudden realization, you lose your affection:
