“She says nothing at all, but simply stares upward into the dark sky and watches, with sad eyes, the slow dance of the infinite stars.” - Neil Gaiman

I never asked for a hero
so why are you in my life?
I never asked for someone to mend my heart
so why don't you leave me alone?
I never asked you to make me fall in love with you
so why don't you stop it?
I've built up such strong walls
over time
and you're crumbling them all down
with a beautiful smile
a simple "I love you"
and a sweet kiss
I'm so vulnerable now
and it terrifies me
because I love you too.

This is a poem about someone who, after having such a diffucult time in life, is unwillingly falling for someone
