Insanity curls through smoke rimmed eyes
The look of the drunkard stumbling through grey paved cobbles
The feeling of the stoner who can't find his way home
The writer who can't think
The girl who can't run away
This is what America has become
The feeling that stirs within
The home for those who can't live
The hands creeping in allies
The secrets left behind
This is what America has become
The donor who gives blood
The person who volunteers
The doctor who saves
The priest who prays
The friend who helps
This is what America has become
Friends who help out
Doctors who heal
The priest who calls on his God
The donor who saves three lives
And the volunteer who gives what he has to help those less fortunate
This is what America has become.
A division between the fortunes.
