Self Portrait as...
As I sit here
I watch the world go by.
Never once stopping to say hello,
As strangers pass they check their reflections,
They don't try to see my heart
Or what lays beyond my glassy soul.
Until today nothing has tried to look,
Any deeper than the surface.
I felt as if I was here to only please people.
Because until today,
no one wanted to look past
This one lone window.
