The Simple Things
She strokes her hair then
brushes it back.
Lifts it up, then lets it fall.
Slowly, she pulls it to
a pre bun form,
then lets it slither threw
her finger tips.
Finally, her hands drop.
Such a fidgiting manerism.
What inspires it?
i’d like to imagine
that she spends hours on it.
Cleaning and conditioning
within that early morning
routine.
Though it could be more
transcendental.
She might just enjoy the
soft, smooth touch that god
weaved upon her.
I do believe she is not
aware of what she does.
Or what she does to me.
It is as involuntary
as the faintest heart beat.
Regardless, it is beautiful,
simply because, she looks happy.
