Desolate,
The moon still hangs
In the paling morning sky.
Stars have fled,
Leaving it alone to face the day
That brings with it
So much misery.
In the same way
The child was left alone,
Deserted by friends
In the face of hardship.
He stands tall to greet the sun
And all the agony it brings.
The boy swings his bag
Over his shoulder
And takes his first few steps
Down a new and lonely road,
Courageous as the moon.

Me too. I've also written some cool stories about runaways and orphans and such. They make good, strong characters.
