The Eagle

By , Jackson, TN
I want to fly, fly like the eagle
Soaring so strong on its majestic wings.
Because it can fly. It was made so strong.
But I, I cannot. I am not an eagle.
Why was I not made so strong, so free?
The eagle can fly wherever it wants.
But I, I am stuck like a bird in a cage.
I am stuck in this city, this house, this room.
I cannot even leave my own bed for one night.
Oh, what I would give to be that eagle.
To be able to soar over the trees, the oceans, the world.
To have no expectations, cares, or worries.
To be a symbol of strength , courage, and freedom.
I am no such symbol.
Oh, to be the eagle.
