Counting My Marbles

Grape juice
And ice cream,
Upside-down
Reading,
Lollipops!

Count it out.
One, two --
I spot a shoe!
Three, four --
Oh, look at the floor!
Five, six --
A light flicks!
Seven, eight --
I am skipping late!
Nine, ten --
That was then!
I want to count again!

I do this every day --
Twice a day.
Perhaps three, four,
A thousand times or more!
Counting keeps me sane, you see.
Saner than out there.

Out there I hear,
They murder three,
Torture ten,
Starve five,
And sicken nine.

Why live a life out there
When I am happy just right here?

I like to count.
My favorite color is purple --
Reminds me of my mother.
I have a lot of friends --
Dolly, Bear, and Mouse.
I like to play dress up.
And I am the sanest one,
Far saner than out there.

This is adorable! I love the way that you sewed everything together! I love the rhythm and so much more! Could you please comment on my poem, "Perfectly Damaged?" Thanks!

This reminds me so much of All Together Now, by the Beatles, yet as I read it, I find its so much deeper. I am very intrigued by the duality of childhood and insanity. I feel in an asylum as I read this... very interesting. 5/5
