I was broken like an old toy
A poor imitation Barbie doll
And you were right there
Right outside my reach
I called on you to heal me
To wipe my tears and hold me
My knees were so weak
I could only crawl to you
My breath a labored rasp
But I reached you;
I knelt in front of you
I begged you to rebuild me; to heal me
And you reached down with a small smile
And ripped my heart right out of my chest
