Words for my Father
You helped give me life.
You took care of me through my youth.
You showed me Punk Rock.
You introduced me to Jack Kerouac.
The words for you, describe only the greatest of men.
Strength.
Knowledge.
Inspiring.
Funny.
Immature, but with a sense of adultary.
Impact is a word I rarely use, but you indeed define it.
Time would stop without you.
I would be lost,
suspended in time if you prefer.
Don't we all love our fathers?
We take pride for our souls.
Our fathers take pride for not their souls,
but ours.
Barriers broken to make us happy.
Time to pose for pictures.
Time to help blow out the Birthday candles.
Time to make me laugh when I'm depressed.
Time to make time.
And one day I plan to be just like him.
