My Exceptions
One is more or less a stranger,
someone loud and obnoxious.
It doesn't make sense for me to
like when he begs for my help...
Another is by no means foreign to me,
we have touched and tasted.
Fun is a word we redefine when
we're all alone in the dark...
The last is the newest to me,
he frees the words and songs pent up.
And maybe, just maybe, I like more
than the freedom he gives to my voice...
They give me what I never asked for,
proving and disproving my rule of survival -
Trusting a man only gets you hurt.
They're complicating my philosophy...
They're my lovely exceptions!
