Changing Moon

I wish I may
I wish I might
On the first sign of burning light,
a fire's spark,
a lover's pledge
... a threat to never be seen again.
Darkness coiled like an abuser's fist;
It takes all I have to survive that...hit
courage crumbles,
hope consumes,
I focus on the changing moon
