My Escape
When all else fails
I run and hide
up to the mountains
before I lose my mind
listen to music
stare at the stars
have a good time and
leave everything behind
escape reality
escape it all
up in the mountains is where I belong
out and about
away from the pain
to heal my soul
that is cold in the rain
to giggle and laugh
to smile and cry
to see what's really inside
my thoughts go wild
and roll with the tide
trying to solve problems
that take me for a ride
they need to end
before going back down
on that 14 miles
back to town
if only I had more time
time to think
time to dream
wishing it could last longer
last all day
everyday
but sooner or later
it's time to pay
time to get real
time to deal
and step back into what may...
be reality!
