At the base of the vast rolling mountains is where it stands.
A breath-taking castle radiates a giant shadow of elegance
over the blue lake's edge.

When Apollo sleeps the castle is silent,

but when awakened,
The undeniable beauty of the scenery comes to life.

The breeze from the tide rivals the most glorious melody.

The enticing aroma of the roses trumps the finest scent.

The palms gossip in the effortless breeze as the people pass by.

During the night the mountain is the castles keeper.
And remains humbly in place,
Guarding the abandoned building from a nameless evil.

The towering structure sways in the frosty nighttime wind.

Some say they see faces of the deceased in its windows.

Voices of fear, death, and pain fill its halls.

Only the bravest of people cross the threshold of its walls.

During the day the scene holds in its hand a caliber of beauty
in a class
all its own.

But at night,
It will send chills down to the bone.

This was an assignment in school in which we had to choose a completely random photo and create a story about what we saw. I picked a scary looking castle.
